Media Coaching

You may be wondering, what is media coaching?  Well, I am very glad you asked. The stage just like the roads and streets you drive on, have direction but there are no written sign poles to stop you or correct you when you are heading in the wrong direction.  That truly is where a director comes in, or where your training/coaching guides you.  In this case, this is where I come in, to teach/instruct/train/coach you on stage; 'on stage etiquette'.

Make Your Entrance

1 - Your entrance onto a stage should command attention.  
2 - Your entrance should have the full focus and attention of the audience.  
3 - Your entrance is your opening statement without saying a word.
4 - Your entrance should invite the audience into a one-on-one conversation with you.

Stand in Your Light

1 - Unless blocked to be in the dark, always stand in your light.
2 - Find your hot spots onstage.
3 - At all times be aware of your position in the light.
​4 - Never turn your full back to your light.

Identify & Know Your Placement Onstage

1 - The stage should be your most comfortable space.
​2 - When moving around the stage, you should look, feel and appear completely at ease.
​3 - Never upstage yourself or anyone else on the stage.
​4 - At all times, be aware of what is happening around you.

Powerful Exit

1 - Make your exit as powerful as your entrance.
2 - Stay fully engaged with your audience as you exit.
3 - Your exit is your closing statement, don't throw it away.
4 - Your audience should not want you to leave them.
